Being the poor gal i am, taking the MRT train has always been my main mode of transport.. So, it's little wonder that i've witnessed, on many occasions, friends or couples being separated by the train door... One person rushes into the train and the door closes after the 'beep beep beep" sound, and his slow friend is left standing out there on the platform, watching the train move off.. haha.. i'll usually feel sorry for the separated pair, but laugh in my heart at the same time.. =p
The above scenario actually happened to me today! =p Simon and i were at Redhill MRT station after dinner at BK IKEA.. Seeing that the train was arriving and the next one would arrive in 7 min, we hurried up the escalator to catch the train.. I was closely behind Simon, but the next thing that i saw was that he entered the train and the doors closed after him.. In fact, the doors were already half closed when he entered.. Being the timid me, i dared not try to run into the train cos i feared having my head or leg being caught between the doors.. haha.. So, there we were, looking at each other through the glass door and feeling stunned.. The next second, the doors opened, simon hand signalled me to enter, i entered happily! haha.. I kept asking why the doors opened.. Can't be because the driver knew i couldn't enter in time right? probably someone else was caught between the doors.. So lucky wor! Even the train didn't want to separate us leh.. hahaha.. In the split second when the doors closed after him, we were so caught by suprise.. That funny scene is now etched in my mind.. haha..
When i told mum and sis abt it just now, they were laughing like crazy.. I guess the way i acted it out made it very funny.. =) It was very funny lah.. Didn't expect that to ever happen to me.. hmm, i couldn't walk very fast with my high heels lah, or my short lil legs couldn't run fast enough.. =p Anw, when accidents like this happen, the right thing to do is to alight and wait at the next stop.. ;)
