It's the first day of CNY now.. Things are certainly different this year compared to what i had experienced in the past 21 years.. No celebration mood, no excitement, no looking forward to collecting red packets..
CNY's eve was also spent in a different way..
Attended Grandma's funeral and went through all the rites before sending her off to the crematorium.. I had tears rolling down a few times throughout the ceremony.. Sad abt losing a loved one forever, and touched by the love Grandpa had for Grandma.. Throughout the funeral procedures, Grandpa kept going to the coffin to look at Grandma.. His eyes were filled with sorrow.. Somehow, i just felt that they shared a great love - longlasting and true love! When Grandma was in hospital, Grandpa stayed by her side all the time, even though there was nothing he could do since she was unconscious.. Mum told me that Grandpa treated Grandma very well, and she had never seen them quarrel since she was a child.. Isn't it just so touching? Grandpa's love made me wonder if i can find such great love in my life too.. all the way to old age.. more than 50 years of true love!
Went home in the evening after the funeral was all over.. I was so tired that i slept immediately after a shower.. all the way till 2345.. Woke up just in time to watch the countdown to CNY on tv.. Cooked instant noodles for my sis and myself for dinner/supper.. No reunion dinner for us this CNY's eve.. Everyone else at home was asleep.. Felt a lil strange to spend CNY's eve like this..
I wonder what i'll be doing today.. While others are celebrating the CNY, visiting friends and relatives, giving out and collecting red packets, i'll probably be staying at home to sleep.. cos there's nothing else for me to do.. =p
